The times when developers sent code accesses via email for the test phases of their games have been over for a while. Unfortunately, there have been and still are scammers who want to get their hands on the data of potential victims with so-called phishing emails.

Accordingly, many gamers act cautiously these days when they receive emails with such content ("Congratulations, you've been selected for the beta of XY!"). For example, if you're currently hoping for an invitation to the freshly launched closed beta phase of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic, it's best to check the Blizzard Launcher regularly. If there is an entry for the download and installation of the beta, you are one of the lucky ones.

Furthermore, we can now confirm (via Wowhead) that Blizzard will indeed send an email to the confirmed beta testers. In this email you will find the following information:

  • You can copy your Classic character to the beta server, create a level 58 character that can go directly into Outland, or even a level 1 Blood Elf/Draenei.
  • There is no NDA, any beta tester is allowed to stream as well as post videos and screenshots.
  • Installation is done through the Blizzard Launcher, via the Beta: Burning Crusade Classic item.
  • You can leave feedback in the ingame bug reporter tool (short key F6) or in the forum.

Important: Once again, there is no code to enter anywhere. You can check out the look of the email on Wowhead and below.
