The Prince of Lordaeron is one of the most controversial figures in the Warcraft universe. Once, his family and the people of Lordaeron had high hopes for Arthas. As king, he should have led the people into a glorious future. But instead of becoming a shining leader, Arthas turned into a bloodthirsty monster who dragged his kingdom and nearly all of Azeroth into the abyss.

Arthas' tragic story began in Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos when the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth and unleashed the Third War. Countless kingdoms fell to the demons. Amidst the chaos, the Prince of Lordaeron tried to protect his people from the Scourge's invasion. But the young paladin's efforts were in vain, and in the end he ended up as a death knight before the Frozen Throne himself. In Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, Arthas even crowned himself the new Lich King.

In Wrath of the Lich King, Arthas finally awoke from his hibernation. He unleashed the Scourge, which once again threatened to devour all of Azeroth. The war against the undead called upon the greatest heroes of the Horde and Alliance, and it was only with combined forces that the mortals were able to defeat the Lich King. This victory, which Blizzard crowned with an epic cinematic at the end of WotLK, was forever burned into the memories of WoW veterans (buy now 14,99 € ). Here the original:

WoW: The Fall of the Lich King - End Cinematic for WotLK World of Warcraft from €14.99

This cinematic is now getting a graphical makeover thanks to Youtuber Pivotal. The artist reworked the characters we already know from the WotLK final cinematic and gave the whole thing unique effects that make the protagonists of the great story seem especially alive. And here follows the new remastered version:

How do you like the artwork? The figures, recreated with new WoW in-game models, are much sharper and their animations and facial expressions much more fluid. The artist definitely has an extraordinary talent.
