Metal and World of Warcraft have a long history together, from various in-game references to the developer band Elite Tauren Chiftains and the appearances of bands like Metallica at Blizzcon to the album covers created by Samwise Didier for the band Hammerfall. And of course, the fantasy world of World of Warcraft screams metal from every pore - or so we think, and that's why we like to listen to Blind Guardian or Gloryhammer while gaming.

But now we can even listen to the soundtrack of WoW (buy now 14,99 € )

as a metal version while gaming - well, at least a part of it. Because the musician Nivan Sharma has published a self-arranged cover of the Stormwind theme on Youtube: Recommended editorial contentAtthis point you will find external content from [PLATTFORM]. We think: This is well worth listening to. If you can't remember the original Stormwind theme, here is a Youtube video to compare it with:

Nivan Sharma himself writes on his cover,
"It's been a while since I last played [World of Warcraft], but I want to get back into it in the future because there's a bunch of cool stuff and updates. I remember the first time I walked through Stormwind with my Rogue and got goosebumps when the theme sounded. It still gives me goosebumps!

"

The Youtuber, by the way, specializes in metal covers of video game music and plays his arrangements himself on electric guitar, backed by a drum computer. He publishes a new cover every week - so it's worth subscribing. If you check out his channel, you'll find various other adaptations of video game music, including Bowser's theme from Super Mario 64, the title theme from Halo, and the title theme from Fallout 3.
