WoW Shadowlands: How to grab the fancy Ardenwald mounts

When the next WoW expansion Shadowlands is released in a few months and we take our first steps into the Shadowlands, not only new enemies and challenges await us, but also plenty of new mounts. We now have more information about the mounts you can get in Ardenwald: The current build of the Shadowlands beta has added some additional information about the new mounts, including source information and description texts. We summarize this information for you (via Wowhead).

A note beforehand: The translation of the description comes from us - the actual text may differ in the release version of Shadowlands.

Dreamlight Runedeer

• Description: Runedeers are granted to those who have placed themselves in the service of the Winter Queen and the Court of Night.

Dreamlight Runestag

• Description: The majestic rune stags are able to draw anima from the ambient light of Ardenwald with their elaborate antlers. The anima serves as their food and as the source of their speed and magic.

Darkwarren Hardshell

• Description: The Darkwarren Hardshell's chitin armor is tough enough to withstand grenades and dragon fire. It also, fittingly, consumes anything on demand if it lacks anima.

Skittering Blightwing

• Description: These exceptionally agile fliers make excellent mounts, at least when they've learned not to suck every bit of anima out of their rider.

Umbral Runedeer

• Description: The shadowy runedeer is bred for its ferocity and beauty by the Wild Hunt. They are not afraid to charge into the lair of any enemy.

Umbral Runestag

• Description: A shadowy runestag is capable of impaling creatures as powerful as a Gorm matriarch currently defending her flock. The Wild Hunt rides these beasts into dangerous corners of the Shadowlands when their realm must be defended from those who threaten the wilderness.

Winterborn Runestag

• Description: Winterborn Rune Stags are the Winter Queen's favorite mounts, and only she bestows such a creature upon her favorite subjects.

Shimmermist Runner

• Description: Shimmermist Spriggans and the Talranners share a natural enmity. No talranner would allow a spriggan rider because they can sense their innate malevolence. This angers the Deceiver Spriggan, who takes perverted pleasure in playing cruel tricks on these majestic creatures.

Dusky Sporeflutterer

• Description: Dusty sporeflutterers prefer the dark and damp forests of northwestern Ardenwald, where mushroom colonies continually flourish.

Spinemaw Gladechewer

• Description: Spriggan riders tie pieces of animaloid debris to sticks in front of their Gorm mounts to guide them. It is an... imperfect art.

Sinful Gladiator's Soul Eater.

• Description: This mount shows a propensity to feed on the souls expelled from Revendreth.

Pale Acidmaw

• Description: The acid in this creature's wound secretion has consumed the color of her armor, leaving her a snowy white.

Glimmerfur Prowler

• Description: This prowler's shiny green cloak sets him apart from the blue and purple of Ardenwald, making it easier for others of his kind to see him in the Midnight Woods.

Arboreal Gulper

• Description: The wood and leaves that grow on this toad are a natural part of its body and help it absorb anima from the air to feed itself.

Warstitched Darkhound

• Description: These warhounds are crafted in the House of Constructs to lead any rider into battle, meanwhile ripping and tearing enemy mounts apart.

Highwind Darkmane

• Description: The Forsworn and her mounts relate to a dark aspect while renouncing the path set by the Archon. While tame enough to ride, the Highwind Darkmane has a fierce and independent streak.

Amber Ardenmoth

• Description: The shiny, orange coloration of the amber ardenmoth indicates to a predator that it is dangerous to eat. Eating one of these creatures puts a raider into a dreamless sleep for years.

Vibrant Flutterwing

• Description: These mint green moths are very peaceful. They especially enjoy having their fuzzy head brushed vigorously. They also love music and poetry.

Winterborn Runedeer

• Description: Winterborn runedeers are blessed by the Winter Queen herself. Their runes glow brilliantly when predators are near to warn the entire herd.

Wildseed Cradle

• Description: The most valuable cargo in all of Ardenwald - wild seeds - are transported in this beautifully designed cart. It is imbued with anima so that it floats above the ground.

Wakener's Runestag

• Description: The Wakener's Rune Stags are passionate defenders of their Wild Seed groves. When the groves went down, many rune deer went crazy.

Wakener's Runedeer

• Description: runedeers delight in lying near wild seeds. Wakeners believe they can hear the dreams of the sleeping. Runedeer display a range of emotions during their watch, indicating the dreams or nightmares of the spirits that dwell within them.

Umbral Scythehorn

• Description: Black Gorm are the most docile of all gorms, but they also get the biggest horns and jawbones. They are so docile because other creatures refrain from teasing them.

Silky Shimmermoth

• Description: The moths of Ardenwald play an important role in the ecosystem of Ardenwald because they carry spores, anima, and pollen from one part of the forest to another, providing food and variation for the inhabitants in the soil.

Swift Gloomhoof

• Description: The Ballads of Ardenwald claim that the birth of a Gloomhoof precedes the passing of a particularly benevolent wild god. Thus, the sighting of a gloomhoof is both a blessing and a curse.
